It has long been common sense that if you want to start an enterprise, Edmonton is the place to do it.

The Enterprise Quartet

The Enterprise Quartet, a university-based ensemble featuring members of the University of Alberta Department of Music and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, clearly thought what better name for an Edmonton string quartet than “Enterprise”?

The players include:

  • Guillaume Tardif, violin and project director, Doctor of Musical Art, Eastman School, University of Rochester. He is Associate Professor and Area Coordinator for Chamber Music and Strings at the Department of Music, University of Alberta.
  • Yue Deng, violin; B.M., Oberlin Conservatory; M.M.,Juilliard School. She is on the string faculty at the University of Alberta.
  • Virginie Gagné, violin; BMus honours, Montréal Conservatory; MMus, Rice University. She is the Interim Concertmaster with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
  • Kyung Rok Moon, violin; BMus, music performance; and is currently studying with Professor Guillaume Tardif.
  • Charles Pilon, viola; BMus, McGill University. Charles currently serves as Assistant Principal Violist with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
  • Leanne Maitland, viola. She has music degrees from the University of Alberta and the Eastman School of Music, and an Artist Diploma from McGill University.
  • Jeanette Comeau, Viola; BMusic, Viola Performance with Distinction, University of Alberta; Artist Diploma, Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music. Jeanette is the Principal Violist of The Alberta Baroque Ensemble, having been a member of the ensemble since 2011. Jeanette performs regularly with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and also enjoys performing chamber and solo music.
  • Colin Ryan, Cello, Mcgill University. Colin currently serves as Principal Cellist with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
  • Tanya Prochazka, cello, Paris Conservatoire. Tanya conducts the main symphonic repertoire as well as opera and large choral and orchestral works. Tanya is Artistic Director of the Edmonton Recital Society.
